According to that myth, the colors of the diamonds mined from the red earth of the region come from different parts of the barramundi.

How is it formed?

Champagne Diamonds like any other Diamonds is classified with the 4C's of color, cut, clarity and carat. Besides this the brown diamond are created following scale specifications like C1-C7 color scale likewise C1 and C2 represent light champagne, C3 and C4 medium champagne, and C5 and C6 dark champagne. The fancy cognac diamond is graded C7

What are the sources of Champagne Diamond?
The main sources of Champagne Diamond are Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamond Mine in the rugged and beautiful East Kimberley region of Western Australia. These two are considered as the world’s largest producer of Champagne Diamonds. The East Kimberley is a land of rugged mountain ranges, deep gorges and arid savannah within which lie pipes of lamproite, diamond-bearing ore.
